Activities These activities are a combination of lesson plans and discrepant events designed to supplement Earth Science curricula in the classroom.
Map Interpretation These interpretations are intended to give background information to aid educators in landscape interpretation. NCED is currently researching the use of 3-D maps in K-12 classrooms and has determined that these maps are an excellent way to teach students about Earth-surface processes and landforms. In response to requests, NCED is developing a set of materials to provide additional background information for the maps.

Anaglyph maps use two slightly offset images with different color schemes. When the image is examined with the Red/Cyan 3-D glasses the brain constructs a three dimensional image as a result of the two different color schemes. The programs that are used to make anaglyph maps are MicroDEM, Global Mapper, Photoshop and Pokescope.
