Get involved and stay in contact with NCED2

NCED relies on communication through internal efforts such as social media channels and traditional media to stay in contact with students, colleagues and the general public. Our researchers' latest breakthroughs appear in peer-reviewed publications, at national and international conferences, blogs and traditional media outlets. Below are some ways to stay current with NCED events:

A Sip of Science

A SIP OF SCIENCE is a science happy hour sponsored by NCED2. It is a forum for researchers and  policy-makers to put science in context through storytelling - all over beer, in a cool bar. At 5:30pm on the second Wednesday of each month, NCED2 will host an happy hour forum in NE Minneapolis. Expert scientists pair with musicians, artists and storytellers to explain their efforts to address some of the Earth's most pressing problems. Learn more.

NCED in the press

The National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics and its researchers are consistently highlited by traditional media; from local newspapers, trade publications, scientific journals, radio, and national news organizations like the New York Times. See the Media page for coverage of NCED research.

NCED eNews

The National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics (NCED) distributes via email a monthly newsletter, eNews. This monthly newsletter contains research highlights from the Center, upcoming events, awards and honors, and other relevant news. Click the heading below to view the eNews archive.

NCED2 & Social Media

NCED2 uses social media to provide timely updates of current events in the Earth-surface community and directly interact with colleagues, partners and the general public. NCED communicates primarily with Twitter (@stcNCED), Facebook and YouTube. Other NCED-affiliated programs, such as the Partnership for River Restoration and Science in the Upper Midwest (PPRSUM) and the REU on Sustainable Land and Water Resources maintain their own specialized websites.
