Spawning gravel refresher
Contact: Gary Parker
Researchers: G. Parker, P. Wilcock, W. Dietrich

The Spawning Gravel Refresher is a part of the Stream Restoration Toolbox of NCED.  It consists of a PowerPoint presentation and a code in Visual Basic for Applications executable from an Excel Graphical User Interface.  The Spawning Gravel Refresher is designed to be used to predict the evolution of a gravel river bed subject to natural or artificial flood hydrographs and natural sediment feeding.  At present both the PowerPoint presentation and the code are in operable form, but the material is being distributed only to select sources subject to further testing.  Parker is working with the Trinity River Restoration Program, P. Wilcock and others to implement the Spawning Gravel Refresher on a project for the Trinity River, California.
